I liked what I saw about the various comics Kingstone has published through their website, representing real people and events from the Old and New Testaments. I felt led to buy some to give to a dear friend who uses his position as a wrestler to reach people and tell them about Jesus. He gives away Bibles at his events. So I chose 'The Christ' set of twelve volumes, and purchased ten sets to give to George South.
I wasn't going to read them, but just hold them until I watch him wrestle later this month. But God . . . They called to me. I read the first about Jesus' birth, and I was surprised at how vividly the story was told through beautiful art, clever dialogue as if those people were talking directly to me, and crisp, bright pages that rekindled the love I had for comics as a youngster.
Since, I have read one each day and still marvel at how the artist and writer combined everything so beautifully, and reminded me how these are the greatest stories ever told. Sometimes they even gave me a glimpse or a thought I never had felt before, in stories I thought I knew so well. Also, it is very special that they chose to list the Scripture passages from which each scene in the comic is told.
I was convinced the sets would be great for George to give away individually or as full sets before I bought them. They arrived quickly and were packaged safely to protect them. After reading, now I am positive they were worth every penny, and George South can use them in his wrestling ministry to touch the lives of others. I am honored to play a small part in that. Thank you, Kingstone Comics!
